Block of the Month & Clubs

Block of the Month Paper Piecing

Learn the joy and easy precision of foundation paper piecing! A new skill to add to your enjoyment of quilting that is easy and provides perfect results! Paper piecing is like “quilt by number”, it’s that simple yet gives the most stunning results on normally difficult block designs. This is being taught in a block of the month format using the Garden book by Carolyn Cullinan McCormick. Come join this class and learn some techniques.

Stitcher's Garden

NO GREEN THUMBS REQUIRED! If you own a sewing machine and want to learn more than how to straight stitch, you are cordially invited to join Carol for some Quilt Gardening lessons beginning in June.

Color Theory for Quilters

In color theory for quilting, the students will be learning the fundaments of color theory and how to apply it to fabric choices they make their quilts. The class at its core will show the students how color interacts, how to use fabric with multiple colors or bold prints in it, and how to think outside the box when it comes to color choices. It will also teach how colors or prints pop. At the end of the class students will be able to leave feeling confident in making the right color choices for their future quilting projects.

Just Chennille It!

Come join the fun as we learn how to turn flat fabric into a beautiful three dimensional wall hanging with this easy chenille technique!

Sandless Tote

This is a class you can put your walking foot to work and see the amazing work it is capable of doing. Can be embroidered or you can fussy cut your fabric to achieve a style to your taste.

Quilting

Appliqué in Every Way

This class is the perfect cure for the Monday morning blues! Curious about appliqué? Fusible, needle turn, machine, hand, and reverse on Hawaiian applique if you want to applique it, here is the place to figure out a way to do it! This student-led open sew applique class where experienced appliqué quilters are ready to share their passion. Appliqué can be formal, whimsical, in-between, done by hand or machine, and is SEW MUCH FUN!

Blooming Quilters

Blooming Quilters starts a new quilt this session. It is a two block quilt from Karen Sieverts book, Better Together. We will be doing the quilt on the cover of this book. Your color choices will make this quilt striking and different. Come join the Fun.

Breakfast Club

Join us for our one hour meeting with some lecture style instruction, show-and-tells, coffee, tea and donuts. We will create a City Sampler quilt that is as unique as you are! Then we will have 10 classes of learning, sharing and showing. The last meeting in January, 2015 will be the reveal party where we will see how everyone’s quilt tops have turned out! Kaleidoscope Star

In this Smart Piecing workshop Carrie will guide you through the pattern Kaleidoscope Stars by Kaye England. This quilt features color variations in one repeating block to create a striking wall hanging. As the name suggests we will be learning the Kaleidoscope ruler by Nifty Notions. This workshop will include mini bonus sessions for learning other ways to use this ruler and will apply to any of the wedge rulers in the Nifty Notions collection. So bring your lunch because you won’t want to miss a thing!

Sewing & Embroidery Fun

What a great way to spend Thursday afternoons with uninterrupted sewing, embroidering, and quilting, except for talking, laughing, shopping, and OH maybe some sewing and embroidery too. Tuffet

Little Miss Muffet had a tuffet to sit upon and you can too. Construct from scratch your own uniquely different accent piece or make a treasured gift for special occasions. Enjoy a fun-filled sewing and upholstery class designed for beginning and intermediate students who have basic sewing machine skills. Students will create an 18” wide by 10” tall strip-pieced tuffet during this workshop.

Tatting

Virtual Clubs

All About Embroidery

This in-store virtual embroidery class is geared toward all brands of embroidery machines. It is designed to both inspire and educate both new and experienced machine embroiders. There will be table top demonstrations that highlight the tips and techniques covered in the lesson. Students that wish to attend Fun with Embroidery need not choose between the two classes - they can simply take a small break to join the All About Embroidery presentation.

Software Sampler Club

Virtual software training by a BERNINA Educator is presented each month with instructions for the various levels of BERNINA software owned by our customers. Then, to give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned, we provide a hands-on demo of the techniques AND instruction to a project that uses the techniques covered are given to you on a CD---that has videos!
