| Carol Watkins has always loved sewing and she freely admits there have been times in her life that sewing saved her sanity. She is also a woman who stands firmly in her faith and her desire to use her talents to serve others. So when the opportunity to open a quilt shop/Bernina dealership happened, Carol knew she would be in love with her job for the rest of her life. However, she and her husband John never imagined their idea to own and operate their own small business would grow to be the adventure it has been in the nine years since Loving Stitches opened. Originally the store offered a limited selection of fabrics, notions, books and Bernina sewing products and taught quilting classes. Next came the addition of an experienced technician, then offering long-arm quilting as a service to customers followed by opening the Loving Stitches website with a wide selection of quilting kits and blocks of the month. Now the company occupies its own custom designed 10,000 square foot shop, has expanded all of these departments significantly and most recently became one of the newest Gammill Long-arm and Statler Computerized Quilting System dealers in the United States. Carol and her staff are responsible for most of the day-to-day activities at the shop but John plays a valuable role taking full responsibility for advertising, banking, and Gammill inventory. |

Office Staff |

Marilyn - What... a scientist in a quilt shop???? That's right, Marilyn, who is a microbiologist, bought a Bernina and we kept her! Fully responsible for ordering and stockage, Marilyn works with her good friend Barb in the office of Loving Stitches and together they keep all of our paperwork in order and save Carol MANY unnecessary headaches. Calm, compassionate and caring describe our Marilyn to a tee. She's also our official "Hugger" in the shop. |

Donna - She is our full-time part-timer
who works in the kits department. If we need something special, all we
need to do is ask Donna and she will have us all set. |

Kimberly-
Carol's baby girl has been blessed with a wonderful eye for color and
texture. She assists Donna in the kitting area and does a wonderful job, particularly since she works for Debbie instead of mama. Neat, colorful, accurate...Kimmy knows how to prepare and package quilts beautifully and has been involved in their creation for over five years. Oh, and she does really well in school, too. |

Retail Staff |

Maggi - Need to find something, like something you might have accidentally blasted into the outer atmosphere of the Internet world, or worse yet, on the Point of Sale register system? Maggi can find what you did wrong and fix it! Chocolate is her favorite candy and no matter where we hide it, she can find it, too! Stern outside, sensitive inside...that's Maggi Moo! |
||
Yuko - Everyone LOVES Yuko. Her machine and hand work are exquisite but her attitude is humble. And no matter what the task, she is always willing to jump in with both feet and get the job done. She's just the cutest little friend you would ever want to have and we call ourselves greatly blessed because she is part of our team. |
||
Carrie - Angels do still fall from heaven and Carrie is proof of that! She takes ideas and builds programs out of them like no one you have ever known! Her embroidery and software classes are so fun our customers do not want to go home when the day is done! Her friendly smile, servant's heart and good listening skills, not to mention that she is smart as can be, make her a staff member we'd love to keep forever and ever. |
||
|
Angela - She is from Columbia. She is very good decorating and organizing the sale floor. Angela is always willing to learn. If you have a question, please don't hesitate to ask her, for she will probably know the answer for you. You don't want to pass up on her kind smile, it will make you feel better. |

Lisa C -
Lisa is one of our Quilting Instructors. |
|
![]() |
Lisa H -
Also known as "George". This helps keep the confusion down, with
so many people here whose name is Lisa. If you need to find
something in our store, ask George because she will probably
know where it can be found. {Lisa was nicknamed George after George of the Jungle, because she had an affinity for doing things like George of the Jungle was known to do.} |

Steve - Steve is our IT
person who also tries his hand at sewing and quilting. |

The Gammill Team |
||
Ken - Ken has been factory trained by Gammill and Statler Stitcher to both assemble and service the long arm machines and computerized Statler Stitcher system. He and his wife, Jane, are avid quilters and so we feel particularly blessed to have someone doing the initial set-up training on our long-arm machines who understands what quilters want and need. Patient, patient, patient...in addition to being creative and mechanically skilled, our customers love his patience. |
||
Fran - Fran anchors so many aspects of the shop it is difficult to summarize all that she does in a brief descriptive remark. She is the Manager of our Internet business and is the Gammill Sales Team Leader. But on a moment's notice she can help on the sales floor, teach a quilting class, develop a shop display...and she's Carol's sister so she helps provide honest feedback that helps the shop grow and improve. In a word, she is invaluable to Carol and well loved by all. |

Andrea -
Happy embroidery machine owners have a friend at Loving Stitches. Andrea has years of experience with the Happy machines and is also an accomplished long-arm quilter! Warren -
Warren Way is also a retired engineer (though
DuPont seems to be having difficulty accepting that new status) and is having great impact in our technical department. Warren is also certified to service
Bernina's and other brands as well and has proven to be an exceptional troubleshooter. Since he and his wife own an artista machine and he has experience using the machine, embroidery unit and the embroidery software, he has the ability to understand your descriptions of user problems readily. |
