Blooming Quilters starts a new project this Quarter. We will be making a pattern
from Karla Alexander’s book “Stack a New Deck.” The pattern is called “Red Onion”, and the curved pieces look like the layers of an onion. It is done in batiks and is very striking.

Here’s a way to do it in the context of a quilt. Each block is pieced to look like an abstract window frame. Use the spaces in each frame to highlight your favorite print fabrics. To finish this quilt off, we will learn about art backings.
