Topstitch needles are designed with a large eye to allow two threads or thicker topstitching/decorative threads to pass through without constriction.
Topstitch needles are also ideal to use any time you are having trouble with threads shredding during embroidery or decorative stitching with delicate metallic or rayon embroidery threads. The eye is considerably larger than standard and embroidery needle eyes and allows fragile threads to flow through the needle without as much abrasion. Available in sizes 80, 90, 100.
