Three Modules — One for Every BERNINA
BERNINA embroidery modules are sized to your machine’s series and are not interchangeable. There are three current modules, each with a larger embroidery field as you move up the range:
- Embroidery Module M (SDT) – for the 5 Series. Up to the Mega Hoop (about 15.7" x 5.9")—the entry into serious embroidery.
- Embroidery Module L (SDT) – for the 7 & 8 Series. Up to the Jumbo Hoop (about 15.7" x 8.3")—room for large quilt blocks and garments.
- Embroidery Module XL (SDT) – for the 9 Series. Up to the new Giant Hoop, a full 12-inch square—the largest field BERNINA makes.

A few things to note: the 4 Series and 3 Series are sewing/quilting machines and cannot use an embroidery module.
