What to bring to Class 1
As we will be learning to quilt using embroidery machines, it will be necessary to bring a completed quilt top to class one. It is highly recommended to bring a small quilt top, 36 x 36 is ideal. With this small project you will be able to complete the quilting in the 3 classes. You will then understand the entire process which you can apply to a larger quilt. You will need quilt batting at least 2 inches larger than your quilt on all sides. You may want to wait until class to purchase backing fabric. If not, the backing fabric needs to be at least 4 inches larger than your quilt top on all sides.
We will also be embroidering a template of your quilting design in class. You will need your chosen hoop and heavyweight stabilizer to fit this hoop. (you could also use a piece of muslin and medium weight stabilizer in your hoop.)
